  NEW: NYC ICO FUNDRAISING TELECONFERENCE: Current NYC ICO Volunteers are invited to join Treasurer, Ted Bloch, as he works gallently to revitalize our fundraising efforts. Ted needs fun-loving folks who'd like to plan fundraising events and create a long range development strategy for NYC ICO to dial in for an hour-long planning session via teleconference on Wed, Nov 4 at 8:30 p.m.

UPDATE: NYC ICO ACTION PLAN WORKSHOP: On Sat, Oct 24 eight dedicated NYC ICO Certified Leaders and Volunteers gathered for a day-long Action Plan Workshop hosted by Myla Marks, National ICO Field Organizer. The goal was to envision the ideal NYC ICO group and create a plan to get there. It was a great day!! Follow-up will be sent over the NYC ICO listservs in the coming month.

  NEW: NYC ICO NEW VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION: The next Orientation for new volunteers will be held on Thurs, Jan 21 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in upper east side Manhattan. It'll immediately be followed by the Quarterly NYC ICO All Volunteer Meeting from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. New Volunteers are encouraged to stay for the All Volunteer Meeting as well!

UPDATE: NYC ICO OUTDOOR LEADERSHIP TRAINING (OLT 101-201): Over 20 NYC ICO Volunteers participated in Outdoor Leadership Training on Sun, Oct 25 on the upper west side Manhattan. They received practical training in the following leadership skills: working with young people (skills specific to youth); handling conflict and challenge during a trip; trip planning and logistics; games for the trail; environmental education for your group; ...and more! And, since this was taught as OLT 101 & 201, they also gained the necessary OLT training to lead overnight backpacking trips with NYC ICO kids!
